If life is soft for someone for a longer time, they often start to long for compensations toward the tough and typically overdo it. Typical situation is liar getting too unrealistically soft life and reacting to it by attacking those who wish civiliced life.
Soft looks often mean that the person has too tough life, for example wrong kind of profession, and tries to build more civiliced ways and free time fun to one's life.
